Ethical Manufacturing & Sustainability

We believe great shutters should be crafted responsibly. This statement sets out how we source materials, support fair working conditions, and minimise environmental impact across our supply chain.

Last updated: January 2025

Our commitments

  • Prioritise safe, fair, and respectful working conditions in our own teams and partners.
  • Source materials responsibly and favour certified or traceable timber and composites.
  • Reduce waste and emissions through efficient manufacturing, packaging, and logistics.
  • Maintain product safety, traceability, and long service life to avoid unnecessary replacement.

Responsible sourcing

We work with suppliers that provide evidence of legal and responsibly managed raw materials. Where available, we prioritise FSC or PEFC certified timber and verified composites. We request chain-of-custody documentation for core materials and assess suppliers on quality, compliance, and environmental practices before onboarding.

Worker welfare and safety

We expect safe, respectful workplaces across our factories and partners. This includes:

  • Compliance with local labour laws, fair pay, and reasonable working hours.
  • Provision of appropriate PPE, training, and accident reporting processes.
  • Clear policies that prohibit discrimination, harassment, or forced/child labour.

Environmental stewardship

  • Material efficiency: optimising cuts to reduce offcuts and recycling eligible scrap material wherever possible.
  • Finishes and coatings: selecting low-VOC finishes where suitable and controlling emissions in line with local regulations.
  • Packaging and logistics: using recyclable packaging formats and consolidating deliveries to reduce transport emissions where practical.
  • Durability and aftercare: designing products for long life with repair options to avoid unnecessary replacement.

Product safety and traceability

Each made-to-measure order is recorded with material specifications and manufacturing batches so we can trace components if an issue arises. We perform quality checks before dispatch and maintain installation records to support warranties and service visits.

Suppliers and audits

We assess new suppliers for compliance with our standards on quality, safety, and ethics and reserve the right to audit or request remediation plans if concerns arise. Continued non-compliance may result in suspension or termination of the relationship.
